Surely I have earned the truth.
Under cherryboughs in the park,
I opened my heart to you.
You made me feel young and new,
Feel things I thought I'd left behind.
Words that I assumed were true,
Things I thought I'd never find.
I lowered my defenses and let you see,
A weaker fragile "real me".
Now the walls are built anew.
I thought I could believe in you.
So where do I stand in this life's script?
Forever neglected? This fragile heart ripped?
Or will I be carried into the light?
Have I earned a love so right?
Right now the future seems cold and stark,
Whilst I wait here in the dark
this is what happens when a particularly emotional me listens to particularly emotional music and it left alone with my thoughts. Posting it here cos it doesnt seem like the type of poem I should be "publishing" maybe a little too personal...I'll let you decide.
