Flooding
There has been lots and lots of rain here where I live, there have been quite a few storms every week in the past couple weeks. Causing water level to increase by a lot.
The highest the water has ever been here was during the civil war, Wait Never Mind!
The record for highest water levels was just broken today. The dam in Saranac Lake was over flowing so to prevent it from bursting and destroying everything, they had to open it and let some water out, with the flooding already, that extra water has caused the need to evacuate a couple towns. My grandmother had to abandon her home on Wednesday, because, it wasn't too bad then the water was only about 8 inches deep, but today when they went back because my grandfather forgot is medicine, the water has gotten inside there house so that's not very good. they're living with my aunt now. This weather is going to stop on Saturday which is good but is only going to start up again on Monday, with more storms.
Now water level is almost level with the top of most bridges I go over to go to places such as school and to the town, one bridge has already been worn away by the river and collapsed under a womans car while she was driving, if she hadn't jumped out she would be dead.
People who live on Lake Champlain has mostly been evacuated or have bad damage to their homes, one family had a beautiful backyard with a nice 7 foot hedge and flower gardens and other things, the lake actually had strong waves that just destroyed all of what they had in there backyard, the hedge is gone, and so is there swings and other things. Just riding the bus to school I can see how bad things are the water is almost at the road and at some parts slowly breaking away at the road.
Some houses are completely surrounded by water and another road is feet underwater.
So things here with water is not looking too good, and we've even had a tornado.
Oh gosh and that tornado in Alabama, I can't imagine what that must be like, seeing something like that happen, 287 people found dead so far. The twister spread across five states but Alabama got the worse of it, anyone who live there, or knows someone who lives there I sure hope you're OK
That tornado was one mile wide, and broke the world record for being the the most powerful, devastating, and longest lasting tornado of all time. If there was something I could do to help I would, but I need to help people in my town.
Friend's and family have been evacuated and/or have flooded basements, some have even been needed to be air lifted by a helicopter to evacuate, some can't even get to their steps with out using a boat.
How is weather, around your home right now?
