1 Year Anniversary! <3

Today is
nytekingcheetah and my 1 year anniversary as Mates.We've been together as 'lovers' since December 09, but as we consider “Mateship” to be a more meaningful stage of the relationship, we weren't Mated until he popped the question a year ago.
During that time we've spent a lot of time together – I've been to Melbourne 4 times for a total of 2.5 months worth of time, and he has been here twice, living with me from October through to February – only returning for an obligatory fortnight with his family over the Christmas break.
(All in all, we've lived together for over 6 months of the last 12, and spent the rest of the time on IM)
So we know we're compatible to live with each other when I finally get to move after the house sells.
As many of you know, a long distance relationship isn't easy. But it can work, and we're going to make it work! =3

And yeah, I'd planned to have moved by now, but the house thing was a bit of a curveball. It'll happen, obviously. I just wish it was sooner!

Mine didn't work out, we've been together since March 2009, but the distance killed it. We just can't meet each other more often than once a few months, due to education.
So it particularly warms my heart to hear you're going to get together for waaaay longer. Good luck and happy anniversary! <3

I do know what you mean there. The distance has gotten to me many times - hell, Nyte wasn't supposed to come back after the Christmas break. He had to come back because I wasn't able to deal with the separation at the time! (I'm so glad he came back - it saved my sanity - or what remains of it) ;)

We try our best. And I think the fact that we were lovers for a good 6 months before we were mated, is probably a factor. It seems most problems occur in the first few months and during IRL meetings. We took things more seriously - and still do
I would agree that having a long relationship before mating would be a great thing to have but to be honest, ive only known my mate for about 4 months and weve been together for 2 but our relationship accually went pretty fast to begin with and Ive only accually been social around FA and meeting friends for about 5 months now but he is so perfect for me in every way i couldnt imagine being without him. There is deep and kinda sad story behind our meeting but I have brought suprememhappiness to his life as he has mine and we are already making arrangements to be living together
