Oh hey, I know a couple suit-makers actually, you could probably ask them.

 cerebal is one, she'd be more likely to reply. Tell her Carly sent you and she could probably help :3 (She's in ottawa too if you need to meet for whatever reason)

The other (more professional) maker is  firestormsix He works from toronto, and is absolutely AMAZING at what he does. Though good luck with getting replies. I haven't yet.

But basically from what I know, (from Cerebal telling me) you start with the long-pile fur and kinda sew on the layers :\
Not 100% sure how, but she could probably tell you.
