Just so you know and all.

If you buy an Averatec laptop for the purpose of using it as a computer, I will be forced to track you down, come to your house, and short out your new laptop with my bitter tears.

I've already tried to repair one in my non-Averatec shop, and I may have broken it already - I don't know if it powered on or not when it was first brought in, but it sure doesn't now. There's a ribbon connector that you have to disconnect to get to the RAM (you have to eviscerate the computer to get to it), and that connector connects the motherboard to the power button... problem is, the hair-thin wires inside connectors like that can break if you so much as sneeze. Which is why laptops from reputable brands (Dell, HP, Toshiba, etc.) don't use those kinds of cables.
