Well, I cleaned out my Beta fish bowl. Putting the little guy in a jar of water first. I got it all nice and set up and put it down to let the temperature settle. But then I fell asleep.

When I woke up the fish was gone from its jar. It jumped out and fell down behind my bookcase and dried up.

No tears shed, but I feel awful. I should've put the cover on top of the jar. I usually do, and I shouldn't have fallen asleep, it wasn't even time to sleep yet. So I feel like my depression lately is indirectly linked to its death which bothers me a lot. I didn't even know I was getting the fish, my dad gave it to me. That's what bothers me the most. Was that he gave it to me.

Constantly reminding myself that it died a slow drowning death in a dark secluded place doesn't help either. (I'm going to go practice channeling these awful feelings into drawing.)

But it's water under the bridge, and though I feel horrible it will all pass. I'll bury the fish (never like flushing them), and keep care of Dithers my goldfish.

I would like, however, to name the fish i killed. Any suggestions?
