What to do, what to do
Looking for a bit of advice here.
I commissioned a quite popular artist here on FA in March 2010 for two pics and paid in advance, as were the terms of the commission agreement. Since then, nothing. Not so much as a sketch, and all contact has had to be initiated by me. And I'm always fobbed up with 'it's coming, it'll be ready soon'. Ask for a refund? 'Just some more time, it'll be done.'
And the annoying part? In the over-a-year since, the artist's done loads of pics and even taken on and completed more commissions, despite having several understandably important things in their life. This is actually the first time any commissioner hasn't followed through with me. Even in my worst experience before, I got the drawings in the end after a very long period of silence.
So basically, I'm asking: should I
A) demand the refund
b) forget about the whole damn thing and count it as a learning experience (which I'm leaning towards)?
c) make myself a big sammich and stop being an eejit?
In other news, thanks all for making my previous journal my most popular ever. I should insult random furs more often. And no, I am not fucking horses, thank you.
Also thinking of doing a voice meme thing, suggestions on what to say welcome. And here, be freaked out:

On the side note, wanna commish me? =3 Just asking.
Regardless, yes, you definitely should ask for a refund, because if he keeps coming up with excuses to not do it for a whole year, then that smells like he's just not going to do it, period. And even if he did, it would likely be of less quality than his usual work because he wouldn't put any effort into it.
Wearing only your apron. :3c
I wonder if its the same person we are talking about here lol
Given what you do, your money is hard to come by, and you need to keep it on hand. Shit like this is detrimental.
However, if you are to go through with getting it back, if the person still refuses, you're going to need some proof of the transaction. I hope you have something of the sort on hand.
Eh, poor sod. That is rather shitty luck. I wish you fortune, if nothin' more.
Get your damned money back, dude.
Things would be bad if you did that, lol.
The person is lucky they've got a patient guy like you to deal with. 80% of others would've posted a journal bearing them to the flames by now. Names and everything.
Choice B: There ain't much of a lesson to learn here, I think. Unless you're bold enough to try and haggle an artist out of their own terms to reach some sort of "half first, half later" payment scheme, there's nothing you can really do after they get your funds. This is on them, not you. You just had a bad run of luck because the person just decided to be irresponsible. Bah. (And who knows with who else.)
C? Get your damned money back. It's yours. You got a right to complain. And I hope you do. You really don't deserve this.
