Handy hint about Pittsburgh Airport-to-Anthrocon travel

In my conversations with people about AC, more than a few have expressed dismay at the expensive cab fare from the airport to the con hotel area. If you don't know already, there is a dedicated airport to downtown express bus operated by Pittsburgh's city bus authority. It costs $3.25 each way, and runs every 30 minutes during the week. I don't know all of the ins and outs of disembarking and embarking from downtown, but the downtown area is relatively small and a walk of a few blocks is certainly worth a savings of $30 or more, in my opinion.

Get in touch with the local transit authority, most if not all have a line to call, and they can give you practical help on how to get from there to there, cheaply. Hit the info desk in the airport and ask too. Its why its there.
I saved my former company buttloads of cash by doing things like this when I could when I traveled like hell living out of airport lounges and bars between jobs - now that I think about it, i should have went as posh and expensive as I could since I could have, but i digress....
