Ho ho ho! Though my roommate has no idea as to what you may be referring. He isn't as knowledgeable of memes as I am, but he can tell you that 'meme' is a term coined by Richard Dawkins. Even though he doesn't particularly like Richard Dawkins that much. He respects him at least.

My roommate just squee'd! My roommate has said time and time again that atheism is a religion, not in a technical sense of the term but in the way there is a culture surrounding atheism. Further, he says that Science has become a religion.

The example he sets for this is that there are Experts who are Well Versed in the science stuff that tell you to wash your hands because there are little invisible monsters that get on your hands and make you sick. Of course some people react by saying "Wait good sir, are you saying that you do not wash your hands? That it is a lie?" On the contrary!

There is nothing inherently 'wrong' with religion, my roommate argues, but religion is a very real and very integral part of the Human Experience, and he feels that religion has become this odd beast in modern society and the idea of "religion" is now put at odds with other ideas about individuality.

My roommate's just fine. He's a little irritated that he managed to sleep around twelve hours. He's got a possible job opportunity for a nearby County that he's really hoping to get. After all, if he gets it, I'll be able to stay here with him in Texas! ^^

The housing situation is a little crazy. I ended up here by circumstance, and all three of us are pretty much living off the generosity of his parents. He's trying hard to find a job, and sometimes while he's asleep, I search around and try to find possible openings for him to apply to. I don't think he knows though, but clearly he must know in order for me to be telling you right now! ;D
