Have you ever looked on Musician's Friend? They have great deals on items like that all of the time.

What's the interest rate on your card, currently? If you have a card that is 0%, go for it. Otherwise, hold off until you have the cash itself in hand. It's waaaaaaay too easy to overspend on credit cards, and then be stuck paying a nasty monthly bill to pay down the balance. Trust me, we're paying down a biggie bit by bit. Just paid off my other one after tax returns, and having a 0$ balance on a card that HAD over $3,000 on it felt aaaaaaawesome. So glad to have that monkey off my back.

AC is so close. Go make your sales, and mentally set aside x percentage of each sale for your keyboard. When the con is over, check online (or have my man do so, his Google-fu is strong!) and see who has it for cheap. He found me a huge Wacom tablet a few years back for my B-day VASTLY cheaper than in stores or most online sites. Cape dog is good at stalking the mightly online bargain beast for shiny artist toys. ;3

I'm doing the same, btw. Put aside a wee bit of FA:U $, and depending on how AC goes, might have enough made/saved for an iPad. Have the space on the credit card for it, but am resisting the urge and being good.

yeah i have 0% for another 11 months plus using and paying off each month which we can do puts it in good standing and boosts the score so i can make sure i get the 7.4% they gave me for after the 12 month period (pending i stay in good standing and all that)
we did end up getting it since it was 50% off it was actually a 600$ keyboard ><

I saw an awesome Kurzweil digital stage piano (p much top of the line, imo) on Madison's craigslist for like 300 dollars. Retailed like 1600 IIRC but was a discontinued model. I'd deffo check around those parts for cheap musical stuff.

I bought my Dual Path tube microphone preamp from craigslist for like.. 100 dollars cash as opposed to 300 new. :D
