The games they let us have are... how can I put it... crap to barely good. I already own Little Big Planet and since LBP2 is out that kind of becomes pointless too

They're all old games that Sony owns the rights to. That's not a sacrifice. I remain unimpressed.

Yeaaaah.... They suck. The list defeats itself really, I mean, this is meant for the fans, but the fans most likely already bought the same games they are offering anyway...

Well, here's the bing... Sony can only offer games from their own stable.

But aside from that: Awesome, I get to play infamous or be reminded of it right before infamous 2 comes out. It's almost like an ad campaign instead of an apology.

In all honesty, if you don't have (or traded in) infamous or little big planet, then you have some very solid games to choose from. Dead Nation is the stand out of the PSN title, wipeout and stardust being racing and ... never heard of stardust before.

I hear the PSP list is even worse... I've not bothered checking since i traded in my PSP months ago.

Another thing I just realized, they can't quite offer M rated titles either, in case the psn account is for little timmy or some other child. That'd explain god of war and other sony entertainment titles with an M rating being absent from the list.

Hey, in Germany we don't even have inFamous and Dead Nation on that list, instead we have, like, "Hustle King" and such.^^

I never did much like Sony. Then again, I'm not a console gamer. Sony could have VERY easily decided to make a formal apology and leave it at that, no free games/free Plus time. Unless you were a Plus subscriber to the PSN, you didn't lose money by having the network brought down though, so at least try and begrudgingly be thankful Sony decided to give you SOMETHING.

It's more about the principle of the matter, they really didn't release a decent apology, and the time it took them to confess clients' personal/financial information were indeed, compromised.. It really was not professional.

The downtime did not bother me, it was the risk of having my information tampered with after trusting a company/service with it. I don't know if that kind of risk is balanced by a couple of free games that no one will likely play anyway.

I do like sony, (still, whatever) but I guess I expected a little more from them in the way of compensation.

Yeah well, I had all my info from DCUO stolen too. What do I get in return? Nothing. At all. Not even an email apology, and a polite version of this request: "STFU and deal with it yourself" from Sony Online Entertainment when I tried to inquire directly.

Anyways, I don't even own a PS3, and I thought Sony's attempts to, "apologize", were pretty bad. In their defense, I watched a video in which a guy said Sony isn't really a video game company, so they don't actually know what the fuck they're doing. Playstation got popular at a time when Nintendo wasn't doing anything special, Sega was dying, and there was no Xbox. Basically it had no competition, so they didn't have to try very hard. Now that they have competition, it's starting to show that video games aren't their specialty. At least that's the basic idea I remember. xD

I'm not that impressed. Most online console gamers are probably hardcore gamers. As such, most PSN customers either already own the games on the list, or have the newest versions. i.e. LBP2 or InFamous 2.

Is it time to look into the XBOX 360 or Wii? Possibly?

Free Infamous sounds fun but you lose it after 30 days.

Well inFamous and LBP are both awesome game, but you, me and prob. every other Sony Customer who's had their PS3 for any length of time prob. already has them. Dead Nation got pretty meh reviews. I haven't tried Wipeout yet, but messing around with Super Stardust a bit just a minute ago I found it pretty enjoyable. But it does kind of feel like their foisting off stuff they already sold as much as they could.

I already have Wipeout AND Super Stardust as well! God damnit, Sony. They just want to give people Infamous and LBP because the sequels are coming up. It is such a crap marketing ploy.

Super Startdust HD is good, though - well, if you at all enjoy arcadey little shooters.

Well, if they give away popular games, everyone already has them. If they give away games nobody has, well, there's probably a reason they were unpopular.

That said, I'm not defending them. They could have probably found some under-appreciated but high quality indie games to give away. Kind of like how Steam does with some of their promos and tie-ins, draw attention to games that might not have the usual millions to spend on marketing themselves.

I already have Wipeout. InFamous interests me, but you're right, that's a sorry selection. Give us a better selection.
