After a good half a year obsessing over my avatar in Second Life, it's now at the level that I and the Luskwood crew are happy for it to be released to the public. This av started as my own personal modding project as there was no avatar in the entire grid that came close to how I saw myself as looking. After a while I started getting lots of positive comments about it and people asking where they could get one. I decided then to polish it up, make it 100% Luskwood parts and make it as unique as possible. This avatar has ended up deviating from what I considered my fursona to be (fae dragon x tiger) in that there isn't much more than a hint of dragon in it and it's ended up more of a fae kitty.
This av has been a journey of beating Blender into submission and figuring out the mysterious and rather un-builder-friendly SL sculpt. With the help of several friends and a hell of a lot of trawling online for info I dived headfirst into figuring out the magic behind sculpted blink, optimising for Level of Detail issues, presentation issues and the completely non-straight-forward process in texturing. The rest of the Lusk crew have scripted it beautifully and made it a wonderful, updated HUD (the on-screen control panel).
I have Liam Roark (co-founder of Luskwood) to thank for the inventive name. I'm completely and utterly hopeless at naming stuff and he came to rescue with 'Kellashee'. Basically the name is a hybridisation of 'Kellas Cat' and 'Sidhe'.
This av is being released at Luskwood on June 11 at 7pm PDT
