"Wii U?" Wat? What is it with all these odd names lately...Wii U, Sony Vita, etc etc....have gaming companies lost their minds?

The actual console pretty much looks like a bloated version of the original Wii. But what's got everyone the most excited is the fact that it's actually HD this time around.

It is notable that Nintendo admitted that they didn't "hit all of their audience", aka missing the hardcore gamers. They're aiming to fix it this time, which makes me very happy; Batman: Arkham City is going to come out for it, as an example of the console's power.

I find it interesting that the control can be attached to the Zapper somehow and used as a scope of some sorts for shooters. I'm also thinking that they potentially could get around the four-player limit on consoles with this controller.

Interesting times in the console world are ahead.
