We interrupt your normal FA experience for a bit of unimportant jibber-jabber ... This is the industry I work for.

Okay, so this really only talks about mainstream video games. I work the casual space right now. Which means I don't make first person shooters for hours on end or anything like that. I actually work on games that are fun, unique, and interesting. But, seriously now. I don't think I can get my website up and running soon enough. :(
And it's so frickin' true! All you Steam users out there know exactly what I'm talking about! 3 of every 4 video game ads on Steam are for what? Realistic military-themed first-person-shooters! Good god, when does that get old?
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go play some Minecraft, or maybe some Battle for Wesnoth. Gotta get some serious exp. for my Horseman homies, upgrade 'em to Lancers, yo.

corporate capitalism is a stupid way to fund art. And yes, I think games are art. I hope the internet gives us a new, better way to choose what we will and won't be able to create and enjoy.
