Lately? None. Been busy and timing has sucked for Kat and I'm the only one working just now. Which is reasonable, she's in grad school. If I'm going to make it to any convention out west, I'll let you know! I'm still sort of bummed that my ten year con going anniversary saw me go to zero cons last year. )=

That's awful! :( I hope that changes for you soon. Meanwhile, we're making eventual distant maybe-not-this-year plans to attend some cons out in your area .... We'll let you know, of course.

That's so sad! Because of my writing credits I get in free to a lot of local cons, so even when I was super broke, I still got to go - I just couldn't stay in the hotel, or travel to cons in other cities.

So, clearly the answer for you and Kat is publication! Write professionally for a bunch of geeky stuff, and then attend your local cons for free! (assuming you live in a city sufficiently large to host its own cons.)

Yup! Honestly, I COULD have afforded it, but I always feel irresponsible and like I should be saving the money. It's also a lot more expensive nowadays since Kat isn't a fan of roomshare, and I'm the one paying for it all since I'm the one working. Which is reasonable, grad school issa full time job in itself. I hope you guys have fun!

*snugs* well, remember that it's sometimes more responsible to take a vacation than not, in the long run. You've got to judge for yourself when that is though. As for the rest . . . I've had a lot of people pay for me to go to cons, and I'm always grateful. I don't like roomshare either, but I'm not one to complain about it - not if a) it's a gift and b) it's the difference between going and not. It's been over a decade since I've had a bad roomshare experience anyway. *shrug* Gotta pick the right roomies.

True that! In any case, I'll be taking some vacation in chicago soonish, I think. And I finally got my house today! After like five months of working to close on it... wow, yeah. (=
