UN group backs gay rights for the first time:

As the USA is a strong leader of the UN and all it stands for, can we expect to see some REAL change in our own laws here at home? These real changes would of course include a general change in attitude towards gays, and legalization of gay marriage. One would think so, as the USA has always been one to push for the adaptation of all UN policies.
Or are we going to see a case in which the USA will simply pretend to support these rights in public, but in real life all gay rights, including that of gay marriage will be thrown under the bus? That sure would be sad.
I suggest those voting in New York on the gay marriage issue, and the other 49 states take a long hard look before they vote no on this issue.
Thoughts:
How can they possibly vote no on this?
Tell me, please.
When was the USA ever in violation of any Human Rights as set forth by the United Nations?
If they, or simply this nation as a whole, vote no on equal rights for gays; does that not constitute a Human Rights violation as set forth by the United Nations?
No more hate, please.

Great symbolic step, which unfortunately, I think, go no further than the next veto..China wouldn't stand for something so open minded.
