I actually dodged a bullet with my wisdom teeth. They came in just fine. A root canal i had 2 years ago? Ugh.

At least i had 3 hot nurses in my mouth for 4 hours.

Haha, I could've SWORN I dodged the bullet. Mine were just fine without a problem, my dad and sister didn't have to get theirs out, I was all happy. 8D But then I started feelin' pain and eventually couldn't ignore it. And one is growing in at a ridiculous angle so that's no good. X3

Mine came in fine, no impaction or whatever. All my teeth at the front of my mouth are crooked as fuck, and close together, and if i ever do get braces, i will have to have them removed to make space for all the other teeth to move in.

On the plus side, i have a very prominent snaggletooth. It's a fang!

Ahh, I got my wisdom teeth out and it was totally easy. I remember being nervous, but I had no pain problems at all, barely remember anything about going in or out of the surgery. They gave me a bunch of painkillers to take home, and I think I took one since they told me to keep taking them. It made me fall asleep, and then when I woke up it was well past time for my next pill, but I felt fine, so I didn't bother. :) Or maybe that was from another surgery, I forget, but I do know the wisdom teeth thing was real easy! :) I was lucky with that, but of course, if you do feel pain, I'm sure the pain stuff they give you is super helpful too, so you have that line of defense if you need it. So I don't think you need to worry, and I'll hope it all goes real easy for you too! And maybe you can just have it as an excuse to eat lotsa tasty soft stuff! :) Lotsa luck, huggyham! :)

Maybe I'll be out for a few days if I'm all sleepy then. 8D I've always heard about painkillers but so it should be interesting if they're what I get to try! The pain shouldn't be a big deal (you'll be anesthetized during the procedure and given painkillers afterward) but there will be a lot of bleeding. You'll be given gauze to insert into your mouth... you may want to pair it up with a tea bag, as the tannic acid in the tea will aid in clotting. Sleep when you can, find something relaxing to do while you're awake, and in about a week the whole ordeal will be a distant memory. The procedure really won't be as bad as you think, honest.

The bleeding should stop in a couple of days, maybe less. It'll probably be a week before you can go about your business like nothing happened, though.

I sure hope so! 3 out of every 4 teeth he's pulling shouldn't be a big problem.

I don't remember the actual procedure when I got mine out, as they put me under some heavy fun drugs. I know I was pretty much out of it for the rest of the day and couldn't really eat much for the next week (and even when it feels like they're not-sore enough for you to eat something, you may want to give it another day. The pain can come out of nowhere). Stock up on gatorade to chug, and get lots of rest. You'll end up fine out of all of this, and better to have them out then leave them in.

I had six (!!) wisdom teeth taken out when I was in high school. They gave me a general anaesthetic, knocked me out, and I woke up with six less teeth. I had very little swelling and pain, surprisingly. I was back to work at Kmart a few days later!

I only had 3 Wisdom teeth instead of 4, and it was quickier to pull them off than to prepare my mouth :P

Haha that's what I heard. X3 Fillings went by fast too! It's the shot for the numbness that hurt a lot after. ;O;

I've never liked going to the dentist but I remember getting my wisdom teeth out. I opted for the local anesthesia so I was awake for the whole procedure. The worst part was when they had to apply the anesthesia though, for me they had to stick the needle into the roof of my mouth, felt like my head was gonna split apart XP. But I honestly got quite the kick out of it; so many people putting all kinds of tools in my muzzle ;)
But it was neat feeling each tooth get loosened and then slide out. They gave me this funky curvy water syringe so that after a meal I could wash out the craters in my mouth that used to be teeth. I don't remember much about pain during or after. My jaw was a little sore but nothing I couldn't deal with. It bleeds for a while though but they should give you plenty of gauze for that. If you like doing Godfather impressions this is your chance.
All-in-all a decent experience, no regrets =P

Head splitting? ;O; Gosh I don't want that... but haha, I'm gonna be awake for mine too. I'm not gonna be looking forward to that. Or the blood gauze stuff... and other things.... but ah well. X3

I got mine out 2 weeks ago! Don't worry about stocking up. You can eat solids again after 24 hours. The top ones will stop hurting in about 2 or 3 days but the bottoms will take 4 days to a week. Just don't use straws and rinse with salt water after dinner and you'll be fine

No straws? 8D I was gonna use those but I guess I shouldn't. X3 Glad I might not need to stock on much then. (: And And yeah, the bottom one it a trouble maker so that will probably be ouchie, but ah well. 8D Thanks!

Sucking on straws causes a lack of pressure in your mouth and will suck the blood clots out and you'll end up with painful holes in your mouth forever :3

I thought causing wrinkles was the only threat it posed, dammit! ;__; So much for my "feel beeter smoothie" idea.

Hope everything went well! When I had mine out, they put me out, I woke up, passed out, woke up, and then I was just a little sore. Had pain meds so it really wasn't bad at all. Or at least I don't remember it being anything awful.

Yeah, it wasn't bad at all. I was awake the whole time, but I was fine. It was icky with blood after, and kinda hurt then, but with the medicine it's pretty much fine. Just a big swollen cheek. X3
