Balance out the sour with Caramel!

Ughhh I hate caramel. I am a super picky eater... :D And I hate things that get stuck in my teeth.

What i can't stand are the ones that have a deep purple/lilac skin, and are yellow inside. They taste odd and the fruit flesh most of the times has a really mealy consistency. Yuck.

Mealy apples are the worst. I've never seen a purple apple, though. o.O

Heh, I can't eat apples. They don't make my tummy happy. I haven't been able to eat them for over 18 years.

That is upsetting. I didn't know apples could upset anyone's tummy. I've had a few siblings who were allergic to certain fruits as babies, but that's all.

I have trouble digesting Pectin. It's what the skin of apples and bell peppers is made of. A little is okay. A whole apple is not so good. If it's raw, it's worse. I finally figured out what the problem was after a doctor suggested it. With that knowledge I tested my reaction to various things that contained pectin and I figured it out.

Is it so bad you can't peel them first?

I think I can eat them if they're peeled. Apple pie is fine if the person who made it peeled the apples. It might take me a bit of time to get over my aversion to them and try them without the peel. I haven't had good experiences with them over the years and the taste of a fresh apple is something I don't feel that great about. Bell peppers are easier for me to eat if I'm careful. I haven't developed much of an aversion to them. I don't react to them as bad.

Oh god, I can relate to that. Because really really sweet stuff has hurt my teeth at times, I'm actually not as titillated by the sight of say, a piece of chocolate cake as I know I should be. It's bizarre, but it's just our brain doing its job.

Wow... I don't like really sweet things either. My teeth don't hurt, but I can get a tiny headache from it. Things with too much artificial flavorings are nearly impossible for me to eat. They taste too much. Really ripe banana's are hard for me to eat because the banana flavor is overwhelming. I don't like bland food, but there are things that have far too much flavor. Jolly Rancher candies are one of my least favorite things.

LOL... *Shakes your hand.* I can taste which artificial sweetener is being used sometimes. If I'm ever in Houston and you're not afraid of meeting me, I'll shake your hand in person. The thing is that I don't have any reason to visit the Houston area... I want to see stuff in Utah, but that's still a ways away.

:D Might be fun. I can put you through a taste test. My husband would freak out to meet you. He's always been way interested in stuff like that. We won't treat you like a freak or anything, I promise. It's just that it's like a real life superpower, even if it's probably annoying as hell to you.

It's annoying at times. I don't mind being treated like a freak. I had motor problems as a child and stood out. Glad those are gone. The strangest thing about me based on people's reaction to it is my extreme pain tolerance. When I broke my leg, I set it myself before the ambulance arrived.

It's so weird, I've hated them all my life...bought one at the grocery store the other day, ate it, actually liked it. o__o Taste buds changing maybe? I can still sympathize with hating them though, they are super sour.

Mine are always changing, and it's always so sad to sit down to eat something I used to like and to be turned off by it. They are so incredibly sour to me these days. I am gonna get my hands on some pink lady apples though, after all of these recommendations in the comments.

Pink lady apples are SO DELISH, they are definitely one of my top favorite apples (got some at home right now :D). I'll definitely throw a recommendation in too hehe.
