"Violence is not the answer, it is the question, and the answer is yes."

"Conflicts are in the world, all over the place, small conflicts, big conflicts, they're everywhere... There always has to be some solution to each problem though, especially political ones, I like to think of myself as one of those solutions."

SHADOW OF THE ASSASSIN
"Just a little closer..." A whisper was barely distinguishable over the loud ambience of the surrounding winds that the mountainous setting had provided him with. *Pew* The nearly inaudible sound left the silencer attached to Ghost's L96A1 and was coupled with a 7.62mm round that pierced the air around it, shattering the windshield of the jeep approaching the rear gate of the complex that lay in front of Ghost. His target: a rogue officer planning on a local invasion, Ghost's mission was a success, his target: KIA, not a single flaw throughout the entire operation, although that was the typical outcome he reported. As Ghost examined the scurrying assortment of rogues running aimlessly around trying to find the assailant, he simply waited, still as a boulder on the beach, untouched by the unforgiving tides. He remained in his position, without moving a muscle in his body, until he deemed the situation to be clear enough to begin his escape. He began to crawl away from his vantage point, towards the cover of the forest that painted the side of the snow-capped mountain. The lack of a spotter on this mission actually aided his cause, allowing him to leave without having to comply to adjusting to another's pace. He arrived at the near-edge of the forest, slightly within the boundaries of the patch of trees, just enough to avoid detection, he slowly straightened his posture and shifted from his slow crawl to a casual walk, making sure he would be able to see any traps, or sudden drops he didn't see on the way up the cliffside. Yet another mission executed perfectly.
"Ghost, I'd like to have a mission report by the end of tomorrow, I want to know everything." Ghost couldn't hear him at the time, it was second nature to him to turn his headset's volume to it's lowest possible setting without muting it. "Ghost!" The outburst was just loud enough to get into his head, "Sir?" "I want that report completed and submitted by tomorrow evening, can you do that?" "I'll get too it ASAP sir." "Good. We'll talk more when you get back, I sent a chopper to pick you up in a clearing two klicks west of your position, don't get into any trouble on your way there." "Got it, Ghost out." He started the trek to his destination, his conscience clear, absolutely no remorse from the task he had just taken part in. As he walked through the forest, snow crumbling beneath his feet, he couldn't help but slow down a bit to take in the serenity of the area, he liked it here. He felt "at home." He continued along his path ducking under branches, avoiding rocky terrain, laying low, he didn't mind the hazards, they did nothing to hinder his movement. He heard the whirring sound of the helicopter approaching the LZ that was merely a couple meters in front of him, as he walked into the opening, the helicopter was landing, out came four spec ops soldiers, ready to assist the Sniper, had there been any trouble trailing behind him. He hopped in the chopper, feet hanging off the edge slightly, once he was in the four soldiers loaded back into the bird and the helicopter lifted itself from the ground, pointed north and headed back to base.
