Angry rant about "DNH", hypocrites, and assholes.

I don't let what other people say online get to me. Usually. I take the stance that their opinion means nothing to me and has no effect on me in any way. That's why I'm not bothered by trolls at all.
But not when people say things publicly that actually can have a negative impact on me, or my friends.
Someone just set me off on Twitter in a way that hasn't happened in a long time. The last time I got set off like this, a really adorable photo was posted somewhere of a fursuiter hugging a child. The child was thrilled! And then furries began posting constantly "That child's gonna get raped!", and other such things implying the child is in danger of sexual abuse because he's hugging a fursuit.
This was being posted by FURRIES.
Seriously, the last god damn fucking thing the fandom needs is its OWN MEMBERS publicly enhancing the stereotype that fursuiters are sexually dangerous. I'm a member of a public fursuiting group, and we entertain children all the time, innocently, to make them smile and laugh.
Today, a local furry posted on Twitter to everyone at Anthrocon, telling them, that if they see any suits that have holes in the groin area, to take names and photos and post them on the DNH ("Do Not Hug") list.
Not fursuits that are publicly displaying videos of them having sex in suit on sites like Xtube. No, he wants people to take photos of suits they find that MIGHT be used for sex. He wants people to invade their privacy and, based off of assumptions and stereotypes, declare to the world that they're dirty and not safe to touch, and make their private life public.
I know a number of furs with such holes. Some of them are used for urination. Some of them are used for sex. Some of them are not really used at all. But as long as they're keeping them clean, and are discreet, it's harmless. Obviously if they're cumming all over their suit and then going out to hug children, that's a problem - but you should not be making that assumption. Most of them keep their suits clean, and then it's just a piece of clothing. Let's say I like to have sex with jeans on, should I not wear those jeans around kids? It's not like you're whipping it out around anyone. Unless you are. THEN there's a problem.
But mostly they are discreet, clean, and private about it. And they want to keep it that way.
He wants to defame them and call them unclean based on what they do privately in the bedroom. Does this sound familiar? It should. People used to - and sometimes still do - label homosexuals as pedophiles based entirely on what they do privately in the bedroom. OH MY GOD THIS MAN LIKES TO HAVE SEX WITH OTHER MEN, DON'T LET HIM AROUND YOUR CHILDREN!
Oh my god that made me angry.
Yeah, you who said it, you know who you are. Fuck you. Seriously, fuck you.

FA+

this is why i dont entirely subscribe to the lifestyle of fursuiting..
nothing wrong about it, I just dont feel like being a part of it..
I had actually posted something on my FB a few weeks ago about that I was pissed that I was upset with 75% of the furry community, and when I went to explain that being a Furry is not, in itself, a fetish, I started getting bitched at by some girl that wasn't a furry but apparently had furry friends that knew "everything" about them, and that I "should know perfectly well that just being a furry is a fetish." No, what fetishes furries have is their own PERSONAL deal, I can't stand it when whatever fetish a furry has, everyone has to blame it on the fact that they ARE a furry. It's bullshit. Humans like to dress up and pretend they're someone else to have sex (doctors, nurses, showgirls, etc.), they like bondage, some people like public sex, etc. Humans are just as kinky, but when a furry, who is still just a human in a fursuit, has those SAME fetishes, we're looked at differently. It's so fucking stupid!
*hugs* I'm sorry this happened Red, I'm sorry that there are stupid people around...
Nothing.
As for those with "murrsuits", I'm going to keep to my old philosophy: What consenting people do behind closed doors is their own business.
The problem with what you're saying, as a general rule: I know too many furries that are absolute slobs, and can't be bothered to bathe themselves or their regular clothes, let alone their suit. Not generally a problem out here... all of you are really good... but back from my LAFF days. No. Thanks.
This was really well written for you being so pissed off.
