OH MY GOSH!
What the hell is up with Kansas City??? Yesterday, it was 75 degrees outside, and today-- IT'S SNOWING?!? This is ridiculous. We're supposed to drive off to Minnesota tonight, to spend Thanksgiving at N8's parents' house, and now it be snowing? What on earth have I gotten myself into? Now we get to cross our fingers hoping the roads don't freeze over, all for the want of N8's mom's delicious Tamales, and hot sister...
Well... Here goes nothing!
Happy Thanksgiving to all you furs out there! Stay warm!

The last time I was in snow, was back in 1995, when I visited Washington D.C.
It's kind of weird... when it snows, it doesn't feel that cold. :)
I'm a little nervous about driving in the stuff, tho...
That's a long time to go without seeing snow, I always feel withdrawls if Kansas City goes a season without it. And it has happened. But trust me on this, November and December are just the "warm up" for what is to come. January and February are the cold months. But it does take a steady hand on the wheel to drive in it. Just not too fast and not so slow that someone going to fast slides into you and you'll be fine.
As far as the weather changes you mentioned, you'll get used to them eventually. ;)
If you need help finding anything, let me know. I've lived in the area all my life and know it pretty well.
Yeah, we're not too fond of the Sprint Center, actually. We were just recently living in the Downtown area, and they planned for no parking whatsoever-- clogs the living daylights out of those streets... (Right now, we're in the process of moving to Grain Valley. Love it out here!!!)
So far, it's pretty fun romping in the snow... it's funny, but I have coats that are almost 10 years old, but look brand new thanks to florida's "intense" winters. ;)
I had heard there was no parking other than the dilapidated lots strung around the buildings. I don't think the engineers and planners KC hired really know what they are doing anyway.
Grain Valley is a great place, my pop lives in Oak Grove, just a bit east of there. I actually live on the Kansas side, in Tonganoxie.
What's the coldest you ever experienced in Florida?
Watch that ice out there this week! One of the bad parts of the winters around here the annual ice storms. >.<
The coldest I experienced in Florida was around 20 degrees... It was a freak cold snap in the early 90's, and we went FISHING. ;) We were soaking wet, coverred in ice... my castnet practically froze together in a clump if I didn't throw it soon enough.
What we were doing, is we knew of a few deep holes in shallow water, and the old salts that lived in the area told us the fish would hide in those holes... and they were right! Every cast was full of wriggling fish of all kinds. It was so surreal...
I don't know if it's legal, but I've actually been having fun with the ice--- doing donuts in parking lots and all. If it wasn't for the fact that you can't stop, it's almost like racing on a dirt track...
