As you know, I lost in the recent election. However, things have gotten rather strange out here despite that.

The city counsel consists of 4 elected commissioners and the Mayor.

The good citizens elected a convicted felon to one position, but he's barred by state law from serving in that position. (Or at
least until he gets a pardon from either the governor or president.)

So, we're down to 3 counsel members.

One counsel member had his son get seriously hurt while serving in Afghanistan, so he flew to Bethesda Maryland to attend to that.

Now we're down to 2 counsel members.

Last week, one of the remaining commissioners was taking a prospective buyer up in a flight prior to selling his airplane. It crashed on takeoff. Killing both.

Now we're down to 1 counsel member.

Friday, the Mayor (84 years old) suffered a heart attack.

The city is without much of a staff left

And I have this image of the remaining counsel member running down the street with a sword held over his head screaming, "There can be only one!" (From the original movie Highlander.)
