I'm opening for THREE badges, in full colour. Instead of a 'Badge', I can also do a portrait/I.D. commission (although they wouldn't be printed/laminted etc and mailed to you). These badges will be whatever style comes out as I do them so be prepared for some variation - here are some examples:

I just work with whatever style feels right at the time, I like to experiment and play around with things, so those are a rough idea of quality rather than set style/theme. These will be done around my LIFE and necessary things, so they won't be done straight up so understand they can take time, but I'll be on them when I can for sure!

PRICE-

US - These will be $70 (or £45) each to US guys, which includes printing, laminating and delivery to your door.
UK - These will be £40, again, including printing/laminating/delivery to the UK of the badge.
(Most of) Europe - £43, including the same as above!

Check with me if you have any questions about the whole location thing.

Sorry guys, but as always, PAYPAL ONLY - Instant transfers PLZ (no eCheque balls), and don't say you want a slot and then not pay for ages, I'll drop your slot if you do - past experiences mean it has to be said now. Send the payment as gift, or add 4% to cover the fees - if you don't, your payment will be declined and I'll ask you to resend it!

These are clean badges, and if you think there might be an issue at all with a badge you want done, ask me first, do not just go ahead and grab a slot because that'd be UNCOOL >:[ Apart from that, any Q's, ask me via note.

If you think the price is too high, buy one from a cheaper artist. It's not a hard solution.

Sounds to me like your trying to STATE £40 is TOO MUCH for a piece of custom drawn personalized art tailored to a commissioners requirements?

Unless I assumed wrong ?

You can try to glam it up with your pretty words but in the end it's just a badge dude. USD$70 I could buy a nice sized color comission. I rather get the most for my money and not buy for a "name brand" or popular furry artist.

A part of me wants to call you a cheap skate however in truth your just shopping around for the best price. If you feel the majority of the price derives from the brand/popularity then it certainly won't feel worth while in you eyes. However for some that is actually a part of the overall attraction.

Having a good 'brand' aka reputation usually equates to good business and customer practice and a good overall track record. Trust is worth money.

Apologises for the long replies, its just such an interesting topic to me !

Everyone has a price, and this is mine. My badges aren't something I bust out in an hour, I often spend 5-7 hours on a badge (admittedly my fault), so that's.. what, about £6-7 an hour? I then print, laminate and send it out inclusive of the price. For the amount of time I spend on it, I personally don't feel it's too much, but that's me. If someone thinks the badge is worth it, they'll buy it - if they don't, chances are they won't buy it. I can understand some people thinking it's too much, but I'm not gonna lowball myself for the sake of getting a million commissions.

Everyones entitled to their opinion, but this is where the prices sit for now, I might revise them later down the line though.

Opinions are fine, welcome perhaps? My opinion is that it stating ones opinion as fact especially on a topic so subjective is a bit inconsiderate.

I feel your pricing logic is perfectly sound, don't worry about it :)

I don't hold anything against you. I feel your art is great and very well done but for USD$70 I can get so much more then a mere badge. I'm not a cheap skate or anything but I want what's fair. You work hard for your money yes but even if I don't draw I work just as hard for my money. I am not feeling your prices so I simply wont buy.

I could give the long debate about how getting art involves a lot more than just the end result. Sure you could get some great art but if artist contact and customer service is appalling that suddenly becomes an issue.

Usually its not a case of feeling the price, its more a case of not enjoying the style enough to feel its worth a certain price. In such a transparent market as the internet it can be very easy to compare prices although a lot more than just the end result needs to be taken into consideration when reflecting on the price set.

It's not about how his art looks at all. His art is great otherwise I wouldn't of added him to my favorites. My only problem is the fact that, to me, the price is high. With that amount of money I can buy much bigger commissions the a mere badge. That being my only personal opinion I was making. I feel it's dumb for people to over spend merely to get a popular artist. if say a band or music artist charges nearly double fir their albums since they are better then the rest would you think people would but their CDs? Yes they will but their would be a back lash and no one would berate them for doing so. But since this is a fandom and imam speaking out abouta popular artist I'm going to get deep throated by people defending the artist then talking about the issue I am trying to raise.

Considering you said I was 'Price Gouging' and making people 'Over pay' with 'Ridiculous amounts' of money does slightly suggest you hold something against me lol. I don't have a problem with your opinion of the prices being a bit rich, but I have a problem with comments like that. It might be 'Price gouging' to you, but to me, it's me making something fair out of the amount of time I spend on each badge - I hand draw them and put a lot of effort into them; I'm a hardcore perfectionist. You wouldn't take a job that paid £2 an hour would you. I'd be pretty wary of a tool that would. If minimum wage in the UK is like £5.80hr, why should I let myself earn something less than burger flippers get just because I'm doing art?

I know furry artists that make hundreds off of badges, and thousands off of digital commission pieces. I don't think what I'm charging is unfair given the logic behind it. Like I said, everyones welcome to feel what they want about my prices, but think before you open your mouthes - is the comment necessary? If you don't like it, go to an artist that charges less and cracks out a badge in an hour for you. I'm not gonna low ball myself to please the masses.

Leave it at that, it's obvious people are going to feel different about the prices - the comment section was for people to say if they want a badge, not to discuss the price. clutter makes comment reading a pain in the ass.

Also, Raskal, I didn't think you were being rude dude, I think this is just being argued way more than it needs to be lol.

So your saying people that are less expensive then what you charge care less about their artwork? I think that is quite rude of you to say. I recently bought a 3 pose with 3 close ups comission from Jailbird and spent ten bucks more then what you want from a mere badge. This was what inwas talking about. I like getting the most out of what I spend. Nothing more and nothing less. And it is also my right to say if I think something is unfair or fair. I was not rude, slightly smug and crude bit I was respectful.

no, now you're making assumptions and trying to make me look bad. I didn't say that people who charge less care less. In this case I meant that I personally work a lot of hours on my artwork when I don't have a lot of time to do so and believe I charge fairly. You're calling me rude, but keep describing my pieces as a 'mere badge' when I put a lot of work into them, and saying I'm 'price gouging'. Would you like it if I came and called whatever you do 'mere [insert produce here]'? I haven't said anything rude - I've explained my logic and given you reasoning behind it, but I haven't been rude to anyone.

I've said it already, but I'm quite aware of your opinion, and you're just prolonging the bullshit. It's like you're on a mission to prove your opinion to someone when I clearly know what you think and told you that everyone's allowed an opinion. Whether I care or not about it is a different matter, but I know your opinion so give it a rest. Also, if you were being respectful you'd have left it instead of cluttering my commission journal, so thanks dude. Obviously me giving you a mature response wasn't enough.
