I don't know how I missed this. They made Persepholis into an animated film? And it actually looks like it's going to be good? Hell frickin' yea! I thought the story was amazing when I read it as a graphic novel. I always thought to myself about how it would be as an animated movie, but figured nobody would have the balls to do something like this outside Japan, as is usually the case. But they did. And the author helped direct it. Hell yes. I can't wait for it to come out in this country. I just have to pray the English dub won't suck, since that's probably what will be playing in theaters.

Do try and get sleep - believe me, I know how deranging insomnia is. I think my record was four days without sleep and I was a wreck.
Four days sounds tough. I don't think I could stay up for two days myself. I cannot function at all without sleep - very inconvenient thing to deal with in college, since I'm competing with people that run just as well with four hours a night. Wish I could plug into the wall like a laptop and just recharge while I work.
I don't know where you live, but the official American release day is on Christmas, I believe. As I recall, the lead actress does the same voice in English, and I remember seeing Iggy Pop and Sean Penn on the cast list. I'm hoping for the best, since you never know how dubs are going to go. I guess worst case scenario there's the DVD release which should have the original track with English subtitles.
As for insomnia, yeah, I just meant being unable to get to sleep for whatever reason. I was in college when I did the four day thing. I'd decided my final project needed a few moments of animation, not really comprehending that a few seconds of animation would require SO MUCH WORK. I'd look at the clock and decide, hey, I'll only get a few huors of sleep anyhow, might as well stay up. . . . dude, I was hallucinating by the end of that. The animation looked swell, tho.
