What monitor resolution does everybody use?

I'm trying to look into what would be the best resolution I should be posting my artwork as. I'd like to be able to post bigger pictures for more detail, but I don't want them to be too big and stretch outside of screens. I use 1024x768, but I think that's outdated now?
Any input would be very much appreciated. Thank you! =D

1280 wide if you really want to get in details should be adequate.
Wow, that's horrifying. I never actually think about it, but yeah, this PC is like 10 years old. It's sort of not state of the art any more. ;)
OK, definitely time for a new PC...
My preferred image size is no bigger than 1280 for the larger dimension, to prevent FA from re-jpeging them. If you post anything that is larger than 1280 in either dimension, FA will rescale it down to 1280 and convert whatever it is to jpeg, resulting in quality loss. I prefer images to be no smaller than around 768 for their shorter dimension, because I want them to at least fill my screen. My eyes really aren't that good, and anything much smaller is harder for me to see.
If any of my works are too small for you to see well, let me know and I can try linking you to a bigger version. I usually have a larger resolution of my art posted in my DA gallery. =)
pretty good size for me. :)
Any net usage should probably be limited to 1024 wide, because it's a popular size. I think iPads use 1024x768, and there are tens of millions of them out there browsing the internet.
