Anyway

I'll be keeping my account here on FA. All identity connections have been erased (through a lot of effort).
This stuff (sadly) matters and absolutely frames who you are to others who do not understand. If you think you'll simply not associate with those people, then you're making a career mistake.

I don't know when I'll upload art again; it could be tomorrow, perhaps months from now. I'm busy moving, looking for work, and editing a book by authors from around the world. Needless to say I'm busy.

Maine was pretty awesome, and not 12 hours after returning the New York Times publishes "36 Hours in Bar Harbor" in their Travel section. Clearly, I was on to something. You guys live in an amazing state. It's this wonderful cross between the Dutch interior and the Lost Coast of California. People are nice, and cheap lobster rolls! :3

In about a week I'll be moving from Cambridge and back to a family home in Nevada. I'm really sad to leave, but conflicted enough to know that I still feel more at home in the West. Admittedly, It's hard not to like living in Harvard Square. Seriously though, Boston is this perfect mix of small town cozy with big city amenities. It's like a portable New York and I've definitely fallen in love with it.
Anyway, I spent the last 15 years of my life looking forward to doing grad school out here and now it's all over. Needless to say, I'm a stew of emotions right now.

FA+

I agree with foxer here, it's so so very important to protect your identity, especially if you're going into a professional field, or believe that your being associated with this fandom might make it difficult for you to get ahead- it's hard enough to get ahead anyway!
So yeah, seems like people are being a bit too insensitive on this journal :( ignore them.
We all know that there may come a time when we need to take such steps. But whats more important drawing art for posting on FA or a good job for the rest of your career!
I will miss your art though
But it is your decision to make. I hope you can live with it.
xkcd is always relevant to the topic at hand:
