SO you are fired for people not wanting to buy the junk what ever you are selling on the phone. How do they figure if you are making any sales or not? I mean to sell anything over the phone seem like just random chance to find someone that is willing to buy something with out any proof that they have paid anything at all.

It's not that you're bad, its just that sales jobs put too much pressure on employees to make sales targets. Blame the system not yourself. I was in a sales environment before and I hated the way they treated their staff, so I up and left.

I'm really sorry to hear this. Don't feel too down on yourself - sales is the shits, it's not that you are a terrible worker, it's just that that sort of job does not fit you :C I'd likely end up being fired from a sales job too for the same reason. I'm sure you can find another job that you'll be great at

I honestly would think it a compliment to not be a good telemarketer. Not exactly a job where people respect you. Your employer is going to push for unreasonable performance and your customers aren't always people who are going to be polite or kind to you.

I share your pain, I used to work in door-to-door sales, even worse than telemarketing D: I got fired for not making enough sales, and it fucked me over pretty bad :C

Oh god I can't even imagine door-to-door sales. I would hate that job instantly.

Wanna know what was worse?

I wasnt even selling anything, it was door to door charity work... trying to get people to sign up to donate to charities... imagine spending 8 hours a day in all weather knocking on peoples doors trying to convince them that starving kids in africa were more important than their own personal problems.

I hated it, so much. But the pay was good.
