By far one of the BEST mods ever released in all of time is Forgotten Hope. It's WWII realism mod (one shot one kill, none of that bunny-hopping Call of Duty 13 year old bull crap) for Battlefield 2, and the new release is AWESOME.

The distant sounds are INCREDIBLE, and the new tank hit-box/ricochet system is really good (something they said was impossible with the BF2 engine, nope, EA is just a bunch of lazy cunts).

Only bad thing is, I dunno how to get this game to run on 7, so I have to use my tower to play it.
