I quit the VOCT
not happy about it... im not gonna get into the full story, so dont ask. just know that i feel i was screwed over by the judges, and im not happy with any part of the tournament anymore. it was fun when it started, before i met the judges, and found that they (one in particular) really dont care much at all for their own tournament. im pissed, and im done. im sorry, i apologize to everyone who warned me about this before the tournament even started. you were right
oh im Rotty
To be honest, I haven't read any of the entries since the middle of the first series. A mixture of totally not agreeing with some of the judges choices for some of the entries, and not having enough time to read everything.
I still wish anyone involved the best of luck and hope they have a lot of fun, but it was simply something I couldn't spend the time following any longer.
Just don't let this get you down. It's in the past now, and best to focus on the future. <3
Basically. :P
Bravo to you Roop. Screw the VOCT. It's a load of crap; it was when it began, still is now, and always will be.
Also, my problem was with the VOCT itself, not with all the poor sods that were duped into participating in it, yet you've accused me of "shitting on" the artists instead of the VOCT or the jerk that created it.
Bravo LapSeph. You successfully performed a leap of logic followed by a blatantly false accusation. You are now qualified to work for FOX News.
The Roop is not the first artist to ever tell me he was upset with and/or quitting the VOCT. More like the seventh or eighth. For all the hard work and effort the artists put into the VOCT, all they ever seem to get in return is a middle finger.
I was referring to the VOCT itself and the people running it to begin with when I accused you of "shitting on" it. Not the artists and writers who participated. Though I suppose you're really not doing them much of a service with your statements either...
And to further exemplify your "cluelessness" on the entire matter at hand, I can't help but get the impression from your wording that you've completely failed to realize that I AM "the jerk that created it." So I'm kind of stuck wondering if you've just completely overlooked this out of stupidity, are outright lying about having read a damned thing about the VOCT, or if you're just referring to me in third person to be even MORE of an ass. Awful hard call to make really. Feel free to enlighten me.
And no shit Roop isn't the first one to get pouty over losing in the VOCT. Would you like me to NAME every last person to post a soul crushing journal that I have to feel responsible for and carry around on my shoulders for the rest of my life? Because I can. It's not easy trying to wrangle upwards of 64 people over the course of six months and not come away with a few casualties. It's unfortunate and it upsets me to no end. But I tried my best. My volunteers tried their best. And the participants tried their best. And a lot of really amazing things came out of the effort for everyone involved. It was not without it's stumbling points, but I can't name a person who hasn't ultimately benefited from the experience, even if the healing took time for a rare few.
So no, go on, give me some more outside opinion of the matter. Try and tell me something I Don't Already Know. Go on. Spit in my face some more. I can take it. Because as far as I am concerned, Your Opinion. Is. WORTHLESS.
And I didn't remember you as the initial dimwit who concocted this massive mound of idiocy because, simply put, I didn't care to commit your name to memory. I'm not so spiteful and full of hate that I keep a list of everyone on the planet that I've ever once thought was a dick, douche and/or dumbass. Though I could have guessed you were he by how passionate you are about defending the VOCT and how low you've sunk in the process of defending it.
You're not improving your case LapSeph. Your VOCT is not some holy wonder that cannot be questioned, the many artists that got burned or burned out by your VOCT are not collateral damage in the name of a greater good, and you are not some poor martyr to the arts. All you're doing is lending weight to my original presumption about the VOCT: That it was the brainchild of a couple of internet trolls.
that's fine then, but seriously... this is the way this stuff goes. Sometimes poor calls are made. Human error. From everything I'm told, even if the mistake hadn't been made, your score still wouldn't have topped your opponent. Either way, it's an awful lot of fuss to be making over a minor issue.
And I've read enough hate in this journal for "pleasantness" to go flying out the window, so pardon me, but I'm not in the least happy with most anyone right now.
When competition is added into the equation it WILL fail. No doubts about it.
OCTs are jinxed from the get go.
I don't know the reasoning why you dropped out, I haven't been paying attention to it, but I do know that some qualm about it was already overdue.
