who are we... where do we belong? we should live in harmony.
General
oh nostalgia,
memories of youth,
despite my age,
they still make me cry.
maybe i am just years beyond my time in being wise,
but...
i still feel like if i could just live it just one last time,
like how my thought of fireflies are one of the main things that make me wish so hard,
i see them as the true magic of anyone's childhood,
that is to say if they have an imagination,
i mean to look and wonder why, even how they glow..
and just be captivated by the whimsical way they fly through the air.
and even maybe think they might be the souls of those you lost coming back to say hi every now and again,
it's just a bit overwhelming to think...
we came so far only to loose most, if not all of that innocence and the ignorance that makes for happiness.
.... to be a kid again,
and have not a care in the world...
your imagination... it could take you anywhere,
make you be anything.
for some of us,
we didn't need toys.
a simple stick could be the sword of any young valiant knight,
or the wand of a great wizard.
i wish...
i could just give up the life i had now....
or rather i say,
that i wish i could somehow keep some points of my life and just live as a kid.
but like one song i know says
"reality is a lovely place, but i wouldn't wanna live there",
we are all dreamers,
and have a great imaginations.
sadly, that most people don't understand,
and go on to fail accepting us for who we are.
anyone who has an art gift, or a respect for art and wishes to create... does not belong in reality.
any artist:
musicians
song writers,
writers who make stories,
writers of feeling and poetry,
or even profound thought,
traditional artists,
digital artists,
fantasy, comic and anthro artists,
painters,
sculptors,
those who sew,
dancers,
culinary artists,
the list go on and on
and even continues to grow.
none of us are happy in life,
at least not all the time.we are only happy where we can express ourselves... in our imagination
or with those we care for deeply.why?
Because art is apart of our hearts
unique hearts = unique arts
many understand...
but even more judge and ridicule what they do not understand.
far too many fail to see the beauty, the power, and passion that drives us.
and that all imagination pushed by dreams and uniqueness is just as valuable.
regardless of who is thinking..
even if they are a:
furry,
human,
anime lover,
a certain race or mix of them,
or favor that race,
they believe in god,
or if they don't,
one thing is sure,
we are all made in the same likeness,
so why can' we dream together when we all once imagined together.follow this..

what do you mean?writers of feeling and poetry YAY!!!!
i wish i could fav this journal :3
is it really that good?"oh nostalgia,
memories of youth,
despite my age,
they still make me cry."
Yup. Same thing happens to everybody, in varying extremes.
"maybe i am just years beyond my time in being wise,"
I doubt it.
"but...

You're definitely not wise beyond your time. The expression "ignorance is bliss" has been around forever and a day.
".... to be a kid again,
and have not a care in the world...
your imagination... it could take you anywhere,
make you be anything."
I call bullshit. I know you're romanticizing your childhood, but when I was a kid, I had plenty of worries. I'm not sure if I was happier then, but I know I had worries. And most people did, too.
"for some of us,
we didn't need toys.
a simple stick could be the sword of any young valiant knight,
or the wand of a great wizard."
Here's where we get a little bit conceited.
"i wish...
i could just give up the life i had now....
or rather i say,
that i wish i could somehow keep some points of my life and just live as a kid."
By the way, are ellipses necessary in every single situation ever?
And we all do.
"but like one song i know says
"reality is a lovely place, but i wouldn't wanna live there",

and have a great imaginations.
sadly, that most people don't understand,
and go on to fail accepting us for who we are."
Yeah, most people don't accept other people because they're stupid. And not everyone is a dreamer. Some of us are too practical to be dreamers.
"anyone who has an art gift, or a respect for art and wishes to create... does not belong in reality.

Belonging somewhere is relative. Very few people enter a place where they are truly content, and I don't think most "artists" ever achieve that sort of peace. Reality sucks for almost everybody.
"none of us are happy in life,
at least not all the time."
See above.
"we are only happy where we can express ourselves... in our imagination
or with those we care for deeply."
See above.
"why?
Because art is apart of our hearts"
Should be a part not apart, and art has nothing to do with the heart. The heart is simply an organ for pumping blood. Art is a function of the brain. What you refer to as the heart is the creative part of the brain, that is chemically guaranteed to imagine.
"unique hearts = unique arts"
Unique art has been rare for centuries, if for no other reason than much of what can be done, has been done. There is plenty of new stuff, but your average Joe on FA isn't going to create something particularly unique.
"many understand...

Wow, you seamlessly transitioned from art to discrimination, except it wasn't really seamless at all. The reason discrimination exists has nothing to do with failing to see "the beauty, the power, and passion that drives us." Discrimination exists because people are inevitably afraid of that which is different. There is no human being on this planet who doesn't have some sort of prejudice. Some of us are able to rise above prejudices, most of us aren't, but everyone has them.
"one thing is sure,
we are all made in the same likeness,
so why can' we dream together when we all once imagined together."
We're not all made in the same likeness, because we're not made. We're conceived with different genes. We're all very physically similar, but that's irrelevant due to the fact that humans don't always look or act similarly.
And we never "imagined together." I'm not sure where that idea came from, but humanity has always been splintered into different sects based on varying actors, like the ones you listed above.
just to clarify, in all do respect. i am in no way self-righteous, i am one of equality and balance, when i find my self in an act of self-righteousness i immediately stop the act and equalize it with a swift act that puts me down and lift many other.
conceited, i am not, for i give of my self continually on a daily basis if i can't i find a way.
i am not sappy, i am profound, which you would know if you had the slightest inkling of an emotional prospective.
furthermore, i am a dreamer looking to the stars hoping to one day see a world live in harmony, though depressingly so, we live in a wold trapped in misery and disarray.
and, if your views differ from mine, i can accept this fact and will live out the rest of my days as such.
And I don't think you understand what self-righteous means in this context. One is not necessarily self-righteous by their acts, but by their thoughts and ways of communicating. In this context, you'd STILL be both self-righteous AND conceited just based on what you said about NOT being those things. Just because you do things for other people (or whatever the "give of my self" is supposed to mean) just because you make sacrifices does not mean that you're no longer qualified to be conceited.
Sappy, profound, whatever you want to call it. I'd really sooner call it absurd and unrealistic. I do have an emotional perspective. All humans do. I tend to realize that my emotional perspective is impractical and wrong, which is why I don't try to argue it on the internet.
Human nature. If we ever create a utopian society, it will either come with terrible consequences (see Brave New World) or somebody will ruin it for everybody else. The world will never live in harmony because there are always people who will want to be above the rest of the world.
we live to die = irony
you sleep to wake, to sleep again = repetitive and dull
you laugh to stop laughing and later find new humor = repeating, depressing, but with an added twist giving hope
it all seems almost lost until you find love or some form of great distraction equaling up to a similar value.
we are creature of fantasy, by which i mean to say, we wish for what is not real.
in this i can say, that furthermore most of what we hope, wish, "dream", and some of what we aspire toward is all, in some way, entirely pointless.
much like this, dare i call it as such, this debate.
ignorance is bliss, for a majority of truth is bitter and distasteful.
existing for no other reason than just to simply be able to exist is(more or less, and to some degree) existence. add purpose and reason you have complexity, add a soul and body you have life, create this in light of many you have humanity.
This barely counts as a debate, and yes, everything is meaningless. I used to dwell on that too, until I realized I could enjoy my insignificance.
And on the note of self-righteousness, it's kinda self-righteous to tell a person what another word means in any context. Words are like music; they have a particular feel to them, but mean something very different to all of us. Oh the irony of the situation. And I agree with you Brushtail <3
