Holy shi-

Finally another person who things Evangelion is amazing. It is my absolute favorite anime of all time, and I dislike anime. I own every episode and movie of it, and I impatiently wait for the next ones.

YES!! I 90% agree with this journal. I actually thought the ending of the series was amazing, but maybe I just like that crazy, super-psychological stuff. But other than that, I totally agree.

I do too, but being a (wanna be) artist, I was REALLY looking forward to amazing eye-candy animation at the end. But that didn't happen! It's like a game missing a final boss! I need something beautifull to drool over as the story comes to a climax, haha!

But I hear there's a movie for that, so all is well! :D

I'll have to agree with you there. The ending was pretty simplistic, graphically speaking.

That's Gainax's style with any anime. They produce great, really trippy stuff though, so I can't say they suck for the simplistic art scenes.

The biggest thing about Evangelion I liked? It was more than just a giant robot anime. It was an introspective look at the human condition, and what it means to be a 'human' in a world where, basically, we're fighting every day for our lives, and to hold onto what semblance of normality we have.

If you really like the psycological part of Evangelion, I suggest also watching Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Granted, the second one has been labled DBZ with mechs, there's also a very powerful message about the human spirit behind it, and just how strongly you have to be willing to fight to protect what you believe. Or maybe I'm just looking to far into things. XD

I never really liked giant robot anime, but I love Eureka Seven and since the Rebuild of Evangelion movies, I've fallen in love with that, as well.

My only beef with the movies is how much of it is rehashed material. I mean... the first movie was a huuuuge recap and then the end was like 'OMG, here's something new!' Yah, I kind of want to see the next movie now.

It's all thanks to a friend from college that I was even introduced to the series.

The thing about the anime is that, yes its good, but nowhere near as the manga ... I've seen the anime and read the manga, but the manga isn't even finished yet :( I loved the manga more because the stories of the character are the centerpoint of the stories instead of those big robot that kick ass... But as i said the anime is still pretty cool, though you understand much more in the manga about the characters... So if you liked the anime i recommend you that you read the manga they are even better !!!
