please take no offense i need to vent

ok before i vent i want to say i LOVE all my wonderful friends and the amazing people i get to watch here from the states but an event happened this morning that enforced to me that i will never ever visit or try to enter the states for anything.....
ok so here it is.......
a very good friend of mine up here in canada was all excited and stoked to be going down to alanta **sorry for spelling** to see his gf that he has been dating *long distance* for like a few years. they do trips back and forth and such and are working extremely hard to have this relationship and it seems to be pretty solid. anyway, so he leaves this morning at 2am to drive to the airport **2 hours away** gets into customs. get detained in customs for 5 hours. then was told he could not enter the states due to the fact he did not have "enough money" for his trip. he paid for the air fare and was carrying 500.00 on him for a 30 day trip. he was and did tell customs he was staying with his gf while down there and was getting paid from his job next week **approx 1500.00 is his check** but they denied him totally from going into the states. now he told me he never had a problem before cause usually he has about 4k or 5k to spend but this was more of a last min decision to go down.
so here really is my rant...who the fuck do the customs of the states think they are??????? there is a min of how much one has to have for money to go and enter there??? fuck that noise. the day that some god damn agency tells me how much i have to spend and have just to visit there is the day hell freezes over! like i said this is just enforcing the fact i will never set a foot down there. i rather go visit china or iraq before i go the states. i have never heard of this kind of bullcrap before and with the states economy on the brink of collapse one would think they would love to have tourists down there 500.00 or 50000000.00 dollars...it would not matter...
now my friend and the young lady have to wait till christmas before she comes up here to visit.....talking with him **after he downed about 5 beers** he also has decided that he will not enter the states again.
