greefing is fun, as long as it is not taken too far

Well, I suppose if it is all in good fun, and nothing permenant or serouis is done (like gettin' a little too happy with TNT), but either way, if it causes the person to complain (or constantly bitch as the case sometimes is) then it is a problem. One that has to be delt with.

Hate these greefers, despicable things they are, that's why I weed them out on the server I play on, as difficult as it is.

Anyway, hope you get your greefer problem sorted, and I hope that he hasn't caused too much trouble for you, as it sounds like a nice little server, with a neat concept to it.

Damn o,o havn't been on the server lately, how bad is it?

Some Buildings were destroyed, an some stuff stolen!

I thought there were nightly savepoints on the server, but I guess I was wrong since the rollback destroyed my mushroom farm and bunker upgrades (which is, to me, also a form of griefing).

Who was the griefer, though?

I don't really know anything about minecraft except that ypu build things with cubes.
I've seen a funny flash of a greefer who destroyed a creation from Mario in Minecraft, but don't really understand what a greefer is.
Is it just some asshole who destroys cubes?

pretty much

since people build with cubes, they tend to use them to make big buildings or sprite characters with cloth blocks, griefers are people who go around destroying peoples hard work and time, usually bye using tnt to remove a large chunk of the thing, or maybe the hole thing with enough tnt, to simply setting an all wood building on fire, like what happened to the all wood inn I built, which took me about 15 total hours of work to make.

a better analogy of it, you spend many many hours working on something like a toothpick art thing to make a real building, including internal rooms, working for a few hours a day over several days, and just as its finished, get to watch some random guy from the hall or room grab it, take it to the roof, then throw it off the building, all while laughing their head off as your work lands in the streat and is quickly run over by something like a semi, and that person is a griefer, an they suck huge balls, not the good kind.

you'd think the minecraft programmers would make creations only destroyable by the creator, to prevent the entire thing.

it's not that simple when everyone works together on something how can you determine the creator.

exactly, besides, the game runs entirely through java, it only has a meg of storage space to it, and lately I have been running out of memory quite a bit with the texture pack I am using.

Oh damn I completely forgot about the MC server, I'll have to actually join it sometime when I remember, and provided my laptop doesn't explode from being made out of overpriced failure.

i hate griefers....i was makin a mega dragon (on as big as a sky scaper) and i gave up on it cause they kept hollowing it out.

you need to come join my friend's MC server! That's they only place I stay because I'm still new to the game. xD
