Thank you for the fasting advice!

I decided to stop fasting for now and try to get back the energy I lost. I was at the point yesterday where even drinking water made me ill to my stomach and my hormones made my sleep back to 20 hours a day. I hope that later in the month I'll be able to try a lighter fast with two days on food and then one day of fasting.
All of the people who gave me advice on this I owe a thank you and I'm sorry I couldn't reply to your individual posts, as I was just to wiped.

Fasting has become much easier for me over the years, as I have become more accustomed to doing it. both the brain and the body need a little time to adjust. do you only do it once a year? it might be a bit harder to get adjusted to it that way, because you don't practice as often.
had a friend who could not fast from food, so she would fast from something else, usually music, since she was a musician and that felt like a daily need as much as food for her. I've also known people who fast from food and not from water, because of medical issues, or who fast for shorter times. because I don't know the exact rules or reasons for your fast, what say might not be helpful.
I hope you get feeling better soon.
DO you beleive God [Allah?] answers prayers and helps us and heals us? I beleive He does, and anything he asks us to do, such as fast, He will in Due time bless us with the ability to do it. I beleive if you are striving to serve him He will show you the way. sometimes he wants us to learn patience, though. things happen in His time.
I know my health problems can be an issue as is and fasting really aggravated them; however I would not have felt right if I had not have tried it since this is my first Ramadan as a Muslim. I should have however, talked to my doctor before trying.
I recognize that God has given me my health problems for a reason, and for a lesson that I can grow from. God never gives us challenges we cannot over come in my opinion. If God can see this gets all sorted out I'd be happy but I already feel blessed that I live in a country that provides me with health care and means to maintain myself. As is this condition is chronic and will not go away unless the tumor grows and they preform brain surgery, but I feel I can deal with it since I have God to depend on when I am in pain.
