Another friend of mine is facing similar this week. Probably a bit worse as his grandmother died a few days back, and it hit his grandfather very hard. When my friend said he could not pay all his bills and see his grandparents before they died, I reminded him:

You get a second chance to pay your bills.

Note to everyone:

Do not wait even one second to ask forgiveness, or to forgive. Do not hesitate to show folks you care about, that you do. Don't wait until it is too late to show you love them.

wonderful advice, and I agree full heartedly. People need to know just how much they effect your life and just how much you love them. I can't stop being thankful enough that I was able to see my mom again and tell her just how important she is to me and how much she effected my life

*hugs back tightly* I believe it too. I've always believed, as Semisonic says a little differently, but with the same meaning in their song "Closing time"

"Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end"

I have never been in this situation with a family member having to go through something so traumatic, so I cannot begin to say that I know how you feel. All I can do is imagine and sympathize the best I can. I am so glad your mother pulled through and I wish her all the best, and I mean that from the heart. All I can say is leave no doubt in her mind about how much you love her, let her know all the time. Most of us take the people around us for granted and we don't know what he have until it's gone. You were in the unfortunate position of almost losing someone but you were awoken to what you have in the process. You are in the enviable (if i can use that phrase in this sad situation) position of knowing just how much she meant to you and she is there to reflect on that. There is nothing more I would like to see than for you two to get back on your feet and have your lives come to order. My thoughts are still with you all.


That actually went on longer than I expected, but I mean every word of it.
