Anyone out there with a Cintiq
I'm seriously contemplating purchasing a Wacom Cintiq, as I think it would REALLY help my digital work. But, before I plop down a lot of money, I'd like to hear from those of you out there who own one, just so I know what I'm getting into. So, here's a list of questions/concerns I have about a Cintiq.
1. I've heard stories about a lag between the pen, and the actual stroke appearing. How bad is it, and is it easy to get used to?
2. I've been using a Wacom Graphire2 for about 6 years now, and have gotten used to it. Will that help or hurt me switching over to a Cintiq?
3. Does the tablet detect ONLY the pen, or will it pick up anything touching the screen, like if I rest my hand on it.
4. Does it used a lot of memory when in use?
5. Is it worth it going with the 12x, or should I wait and get the 21x? Or, perhaps I should buy one of those used 15x models I see sometimes on eBay?

-There can be a lag in strokes depending on the brushes being used. Usually the BIGGER it is, the more likely it'd possibly lag.
-Yes, it does only detect the pen on the drawing surface.
and as long as you have a good enough graphics card to support the additional monitor, the tablet shouldn't take up much computer power.
If you're going to get a new one, go for the 12WX, it is actually larger than it seems and should do you well for its $1000+ price tag.
however, if you'd rather spend less, getting a used PL-550 for around $400 would do you well.
as for your other questions i dont know.
I haven't had to much problem with lag i do occasionally notice the stroke not appearing as fast as i make it but thats no big deal.
I had a wacom graphire 4 for 3 years prior and I was pretty much able to use my cintiq straight away the first time i installed it
cintiq does only detect the pen though i had to disable the right touch strip because i would constantly brush it by accident while drawing
I don't think it uses any more memory then a standard tablet, basically its a 12 inch monitor with a tablet built in underneath the screen.
as far as which size to get I could only afford the 12 but thats fine for me because i never drew on paper bigger than standard notebook size anyway.
also you should know the thing requires a bit of desk room to use and you can't really take it far from your computer. you'll need to have a vga or dvi port on you pc to plug it into as well as a free usb port and a power outlet to plug the video converter into. hope that answer all your questions
