NEW Music AUP Changes: What They Mean To You!
The Music AUP has been changed again!

Original "new" policies are in red
Updated new policies are in green.
Explanation of the changes are in black or white depending on your scheme. I am NOT an admin of FA, explanations are simply of how I understand the changes, as well as any comments or concerns I personally have.
Copyright Tracks
Copyrighted audio tracks (material that the uploader has not performed or recorded) are prohibited unless you are the copyright holder. Cover versions of other recording artists' songs are allowed provided all the instrumentation, vocals, etc are performed/recorded by the uploader or a ensemble to which the uploader belongs. Uploads which violate the Copyrighted Content policy will result in an automatic suspension.
Commercial audio tracks may not be uploaded to the site unless the uploading user is the copyright holder and is the original performing artist.
Cover versions of other recording artists' songs are allowed provided the instrumentation, vocals, etc. are performed/recorded by the uploader or a ensemble to which the uploader belongs. Voice overs/audio tracks are permitted provided the music portion is A) public domain or B) intended for song over work (e.g. Karaoke mixes).
The Karaoke confusion has finally been cleared up. You CAN post vocal covers with karaoke tracks.
Remixes
Remixes must contain significant work to distinguish themselves from the original content. "Significant work" is determined by the proximity to the original song (e.g. changing equalization/pitch is NOT considered "significant work"). The work must strive to create something new and original. The uploader must give due credit to the original creators of any non-original songs or samples used.

This has not changed.
Mashups
Mashups are not permitted.
Mashups, mixes, mixtapes, live sets, and other audio that does not contain significant editing by the user are not permitted. Mashups containing significant editing and post-production work may be deemed a "remix" at the discretion of Fur Affinity and are therefore subject to the AUP's Remixes Policy. This decision is at the sole discretion of FA and its moderators.
Mashups ARE allowed providing there is enough editing to consider it a remix, and not just two songs overlayed.
Samples and Soundbites
Significant portions of copyrighted material longer than 15 seconds may not be used.
Portions of copyrighted material of any length may not be used without significant post-production editing, as determined by FA and its moderators.
The time limit has been removed, resulting in ANY copy written material requiring significant editing.
As Part of Flash
Copyrighted music may accompany Flash as part of Fair Use provided that the music is used to compliment the work as a whole. All Flash must be original, full animation. Flash which uses simple, basic animation and/or slideshows may not use copyrighted music in such a way.
Commercial audio may be used in animation provided the audio compliments the work. Animation which uses simple, basic animation/loops or slideshows may not use commercial audio in such a way.
It's been clarified that commercial audio CAN be used in flash animations as long as it's complex. Basically, you can't just throw together a quick furry slideshow to showcase your favorite Lincoln Park song.
Adult Content
Adult Content - Audio uploads may not contain adult content (realistic depictions of sex) or obscene sounds (e.g. recordings of vomiting, waste or bowel movements, etc.).
Adult Content - Uploads may not contain realistic depictions of sex or obscene/vulgar audio (vomiting, bowel movements, etc.).
I read this as sexual lyrics are permitted, however audio that could be considered adult (aka fap material moaning and such) is not permitted.
Audio Quality
Audio should be clear with normalized audio levels. Aggressively loud, high-pitched, or distorted audio may be removed.
