Step one - Seeing a doctor

Following on from last time, I saw my GP today about how to begin hormone treatment. I wasn't too comfortable explaining it all in person, I'm terrible at explaining things in person at the best of time, but I got through, was given a number for counselling and I'm now booked for a telephone interview to discuss everything.
For my own record, that'll be 9:15 AM, 30th September.
Gonna have to think hard about what I'll be saying then, or else I'll be stumbling through it like an oaf.
Aside from that, I have to say I've been amazed at the reaction I've received to this decision. Everyone's been accepting, supportive and excited at seeing me turn shemale, and I can't express just how happy it's made me feel. Even my own mother is fine with it, though actually telling her was too hard and the only thing I could do to break it to her was to tell her to read my journal while I walked out the door this morning.
But at least that's the hardest step out of the way.
