The journal here (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/752264/) is an awesome set of basic guides on being a good commissioner... and there is another link at the top of the journal another detailing some basics for artists. I read through both, and even though the are a couple years old, they are really well put together, and they have a ton of really good points. I think everyone should go give them a look and see for yourself. I am going to be using some of them in the setting of my rules set myself.
