What a happy looking bunch of bucks! :)

How many groupings do you have? I know you have about 40+ rats and I know they arent all in one cage together.

I have one group of 3 ancient old boys in a single level cage, because they have HLD and are basically not in the best of health.
I have my girls group, which has 7 girls and 2 castrated boys.
I have one group of 2, which is agent orange and tyrus because they won't live with anyone but each other.
I have one group of 3 which is Mortemain, Luke and Jethro (basically rats who refuse to live in a big group)
And everyone else is in one group, but its not one cage. Its a cage system, comprised of 5 other cages, all joined with tubes. There was no such thing as a cage big enough and interesting enough for the amount in my group, so I just made it. So I have 25+ boys in one group, which is quite hard to achieve without a lot of fighting, but Im pretty confident that its precisely because they have so much room that they don't fight; they can get away from each other if they need to.

I had 10 males in one huge cage at one time. They never fought but would bicker at times. Wow though at 25+ in one group... must be "fun" cleaning that. :P

Its a daily job. I spot clean every day, wipe down everything, change all newspaper etc. If I didn't, they'd be living in their own filth by day 2. I do a big proper clean once a week which takes about 5 hours in total :o

I only have 5 now and a few are, for the most part, litter trained so cleaning is easy for me. I spot clean and I use fleece for a bedding and just take it out once or twice a week as well as all their other cloth items and just throw it in the wash and place a second set down.
