Right, you know what?

This is fucked up.
I post a photo of some rat babies that Im raising, for a breeder friend of mine, because I find baby rats fascinating and know not everyone gets to see them so young, and I log off.
I come back to find drama in my absence caused by another fucking snake owner deciding to leave totally inappropriate comments? AGAIN?
How many times does this have to happen? Why do rat owners have to put up with this shit all the time from these mentally diseased morons?
These are PET RATS.
They are bred by a friend, one of the most respected breeders in the UK, for pets/show. Im looking after them until they are old enough to go back to my friend, where they'll be homed into loving families.
I rescue, I do not get to experience the birth, growth and 'childhood' of rats. I get rats in at old age, or teenage stage. I don't get the joy of seeing them from day one, seeing how mum takes care of them, seeing how they grow, watching how they develop, I miss all that. As a rat person, I want to experience that, I want to observe it and learn more about rats from it. I also just wanna play with some ridiculously cute babies.
So my friend kindly offered to let me foster her girl and let her birth her babies here, so I could socialise and raise them.
This is exciting, for me.
So I come to post a pic, because other people might also find it exciting or just wanna see what newborn rats look like, and oh what a fucking surprise, I come back to a snake owner leaving a dickhead comment.
You know the worst thing? When I put the picture up, I even had a thought in the back of my mind of 'I hope snake owners don't ruin this post', but assured myself that as there was no mention of anything to do with snakes on it, that no-one would be that socially inept.
And wowee, look what happened.
What is wrong with you people?
I don't mean ALL snake owners, I know some that would never dream of doing that. I mean the kind that seem compelled to leave stupid comments on my pictures. Did your mothers drop you on your heads when you were babies?
Do I go on pictures of people's cats or rabbits or small dogs and go 'wow, my doberman would love to rip him to bits! LOL!'
You're fucking idiots, and you deserve to have the shit beaten out of you.
I know furries aren't the most socially capable beings on earth anyway, but what the fuck?
And wow, you hid the comment, thanks a bunch. Now I have the comment string fucked up with stupid 'hidden' messages just because you wanted to be a prick.
ENOUGH. THIS IS TO EVERYONE.
STOP FUCKING TALKING ABOUT SNAKES ON PICTURES I POST OF RATS.
If I want to talk about snakes, I'll mention snakes in the description.
OTHERWISE....
THESE ARE MY PETS, THEY'RE MY FAMILY, HAVE SOME FUCKING RESPECT OR JUST THROW YOURSELF OVER A CLIFF, PLEASE, STUPID CUNTS.

Some people just have no tact for anything, I mean holy hell how inappropriate.
I'm glad you're getting to see these babies grow. It's a fascinating time, watching their senses develop, learning, socialising, becoming rats. Amazing stuff.
Although, one exchange between my GF and a moron at the pet shop recently summed up perfectly the kind of stupidity people spew forth.
*GF has taken one of our rats in for a post-op check, and is sitting in the waiting room with the carrier.
An old bag comes in with a cat in a carrier. Goes to sit down, peers into GF's carrier'
- Old Bag: "ohh, a Rat? My kitty would just love to gobble it up!"
- GF: "Well, my boa constrictor would just love to gobble up your cat"
Old bag went and sat down as far from my GF as possible...*
Similarly, a boa constrictor shoved into a cage full of rats, is going to be reduced to a skeleton in a few hours. We never ever worry about the RATS getting hurt of one of the snakes escape - we panic that the snake is going to end up torn to many many little pieces, and as reptiles are notoriously long-lasting even when mortally wounded, eaten alive in the process of being shredded.
We love our rats and would never EVER dream of feeding them to any of our snakes. Even after they die, they get buried in the garden.
It's hard, very hard, to reconcile feeding the snakes the frozen 'lab' ones we get from the exotics store, but we know those rodents died humanely without knowing the pain or fear which life feeders put rodents through on a regular basis. Anyone looking at a handful of new life and thinking only 'Oh my snake would like to eat that' is some special kind of sociopath, especially the scum that live feed.
I'm autistic, and I would know better then to start drama like that. Someone, who by definition, is BAD with social ques and tends to be lacking in empathy, knows what a dick move that is.
I love both snakes and rats, and would never do live feeding. If I really REALLY wanted to fulfill the morbid fascination of watching that kind of spectacle, there's, you know, nature programs out there. No need to do such horrible things to a freakin PET rat. People like that should be forced to get a big cock drawn on their face, so people would know them from sight.
Rats are adorable, and I loved the baby picture you posted. I also love the artwork you do of them; there needs to be more rat art out there!
