Servane Problems...

So... as adorable as she is... and as much as I love the character...
I'm seriously considering a re-design. Years ago when I first even created the character, she looked Human but her skin sparkled as if sprinkled with jewel dust and she could shape shift into a cat... a cat of varying size with what I call Moon Gold fur...
Obviously, she is no longer that and I kind of miss her roots. Thing is... the original Servane was called Servane Tal Krue, she was unearthly beautiful, deaf thanks to a spell her (hopefully) dead husband used on her (long story), can read lips, can still speak clearly when she wants to speak at all, and is not the hyper happy go lucky kitty everyone knows and loves. I wouldn't call her straight laced and strict, but seeing her smile or hearing her laugh was a rare thing indeed all thanks to the events that caused her to flee her husband's home.
So.
Do I say the hyper go lucky is a young more carefree version of her and make a more "correct" version or....?
Yeah...
Input is very much needed and wanted.
