1 AM Yeah That Wasn't A Well Thought Out Plan..

Heer Feeshy Feeshy Feeshy!
Ok, after a bit more thought and some rest, and not trying to think through a raging migraine I've come to the conclusion that maybe, just maybe scooting off to tropic land isn't the best thing right now.
Oh I'll still do it, but the way I worded everything last night made it sound like I was going to up and leave tomorrow. I do apologize for that. Eh, I was kind of out of it to say the least yesterday. Still feel like a damn caged bird though.
I do have something I need to stay here for, well the mainland that is. I do want to get out of this area though and then perhaps think a bit more. Yes, I've researched Hawaii to no end for the last 7 or so years, but as a few people pointed out to me, that it's still dangerous to go alone. (I am refraining from making the "It's dangerous to go alone, here take this" joke/meme thing) XD
So yes, still plotting on all that, but just letting ya'll know I'm not up and leaving within the next week to some far off place.

My husband grew up on the islands in Hawaii. It feels more caged to him, than the mainland!
Oh wow, that's quite interesting. I've heard of people saying this before.
Oahu, the main island, is expensive to live at. It's also pricey due to everything touristy and shipping expenses. Houses worth about 150k here, are worth a million + there.
If you want to live on the cheap in Hawaii, you'd have to move off the tourist island (Oahu). But then you kind of are trapped on an island. If you want to leave you have to pay for a plane ride TO the main island, and then another one off of it. To travel between them, you have to set up a boat ride / plane ride.
You live in the middle of nowhere, with acres of land between you and the next person, with very few paved roads outside of the "city" on the island.
While I find it INCREDIBLY enjoyable to visit Hawaii, I'm not sure if I would want to live there past 5 years. Once you see and do everything an the island. You feel trapped, because.. You've done it all, and traveling the the US is a luxury since the cost is so high. It's do-able, but pricey.
Yeah I know it'll be expensive to live there, which is sad. One of the reasons I do want to go though is for the Marine Mammal studies program at the college. It's not that I just want to run off to some tropical place and park it on the beach. XD I'm also very interested in the culture there as well.
I actually do well out in the middle of nowhere. I really don't dig the city that much. :3
I do want to thank you again for taking the time to explain things a bit more though, that was very kind of you. =)
