Aka, epic upgrade fail.
I was trying to add some more RAM and a new drive to my PC the other day.
I power it up - and an immediate "RAM fail" beep code. Confused, I start shuffling memory chips around.
Now, I did major research, after making the mistake of buying RAM cards that're too large for my motherboard last time. This time I made sure the cards were the right size, the right rating, the right voltage, everything.
ALL FOUR STICKS ARE UNRESPONSIVE.
How the hell do I get four defective RAM sticks?
Better yet, how can four sticks who're rated exactly the same be incompatible with a fifth with the exact same rating?
The only thing different is the brand. I didn't realize a motherboard who'd been reviewed for not being pickyy about RAM would be that picky about RAM that who made it would matter that much.
