Out of the hospital, into the frying pan?
So I was released from the hospital last night, made it home just fine, on semi-bedrest. Everything seems to be fine now, they stopped the contractions and they're having me come into the doctors' once a week to make sure I haven't dilated.
I got a decent sleep for the first time in a couple nights, in my own bed, and was woken up at 11am by someone calling, then knocking on my door. Who was it? It was two Phoenix police officers there with my former roommate, because he decided he couldn't wait two more weeks for us to pay off our stereo, and got the cops involved because 'he didn't want to start a conflict'
...wtf? He waited until I got out of the frickin hospital just to come over with cops and tell me I had to uninstall a friggin car stereo in the middle of the Phoenix heat? Discussed it with the cops, and they said that we didn't even have an obligation to surrender the damn thing- there was no contract, and he'd have to take us to civil court just to get a court date to make the decision- a court date that, I might add, would be long after we'd paid the thing off on September 9th, and so would be thrown out.
So I'm a very unhappy camper at this exact moment- since I wasn't going to send Z out in the 113 degree heat to rip out this guys stupid stereo when it would be paid off in less than two weeks, I decided to write something up saying we'd pay it in full before the end of Sept (which, originally, is what we told him we'd do ANYWAY and had been telling him we'd do.) Cops left, cause, seriously, wtf did he bring them for? Like a pregnant chick was gonna start shit with him or do anything besides say 'no', which the cops couldn't do anything about anyway.
Rrrgh. That was fucking pointless. I just had to stand on my porch for a damn hour telling him exactly what the cops told him- you can't take it unless you file a suit, and the suit's not going to come up for court date til after it's paid! I'm so pissed. There was no fucking reason for this.
On top of it, you know how much money we'd missed in payments? On a $600 stereo? $80. 80 bucks and he's flipping his fucking lid.

From that incident, you're being kind. I would have used a phrase like "I have seen better and brighter heads than his .. shredded into coleslaw." or "He doesn't have the common sense God gave to boiled cabbage."
