I think it was more of the fact there is a legal obligation to inform the users before this was implemented, not after. I'm not gonna go foaming off at the mouth about it though, because really...this is FA, should we honestly be surprised that they pulled this?

Honestly, I don't think there is any real legal obligation here. (not trying to white knight here) Damn near every website out there makes use of tracking cookies. Facebook does this all the time, but you don't see people bitching and moaning about that. (it's how they target ads to you, on other websites that connect to FB) Remember, the way this works: is that we the users provide the data, on our own, for the advertisers to work with. I'm not saying that I approve of this, but it's certainly not illegal for them to do it. Of all the things to be pissed off about, they go ranting and raving about this? The whole internet works like this, so it's not like its exclusive to FA.

To sum it up, this is really just a trivial matter, blown waaaay out of proportion. There are bigger fish to fry.

I looked and adblock plus is automatically blocking it for me, and I didn't have to do a thing. Way to go, FA. You added another blacklisted script on your site.

Hell, by default adblock blocks all the adverts on this site anyways.
