KC Furs - Movie meet
To kick off my monthly movie meet, I've chosen "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"! The venue will be the Cinemark 20 off of Johnson and Antioch Rd. (5500 Antioch, Merriam, KS 66202, or Google Maps for those that need to use GPS navigation.) I do not know if the venue is fursuit friendly, so please call ahead and ask, before bringing your suit!
Adult ticket price is $6.75 per person. Showtime is this Saturday at 7:20, so I suggest we meet up around 7pm, to give everyone time to buy tickets/snacks, etc. If anyone wants to get a bite to eat, there is a Chili's very close to the theater.
I would love for this to be a regular event again, so please bring a friend or two! If you have any questions, please feel free to hit me up here or on twitter: MD_2389

No go for me this time, Cinemark 20. I am thinking about going to the Boulevard Drive-in this Saturday instead to see this along with Divergent and maybe do a little fursuiting there. (Wes Neal the owner knows that I have the suit and have brought it there before.)
1. It's a really nice theater
2. It's cheap! :P
3. It's relatively close for the Laurence furs.
4. With the weather being a bit unpredictable this time of the year, I felt it was a good idea for an indoors venue. Perhaps this summer, we can give Boulevard a shot.
1. Yes it's nice
2. Yes it's cheap and you get 2 movies for $10
3. It's only and extra couple of miles from Cinemark 20. (not really any further if you take the Turnpike from Lawrence)
4. Usally a few days before we will know about the Weather. We can always use Cinemark 20 as backup in case of bad weather.
So I really hope you can hold an event there at the Boulevard Drive-in.
Cinemark 20 is also a nice theater but I like the Boulevard way more.
Speaking of which: "Terrible Tim" Sweeten's "Drive in Movie Maniacs" (shot at the Boulevard) is on every Friday night at Midnight and Saturday night at 2am on JCCC-TV 17 (Time Warner and Consolidated/Surewest) and 22 (Comcast), as well as video.jccc.edu . If ya like cheesy old horror movies, this is the place to go. (Yes, I'm plugging it, I'm the one putting it on, there.)
