Shouldn't have asked! We're doing a comparison of insect diversity in and out of a 75yrold deer exclosure by digging pit-fall traps (little jars of alcohol sank into the ground that bugs just walk into and die - that's what the bear ate) and sweep-netting (running a net through the vegitation). twenty samples of each type (traps and nets) per each area (without the fence and within the fence), three times over the summer (early, mid, and late) and then all the insects in each sample will be identified down to family. It's not profound, but we hope to find a difference in both diversity and abundance from where the deer have been browsing and where they haven't had access.

Most of the work is in the IDing part, which will probably take me all winter ;__;

AND YES we can work out a schedule. You just wanted a sketch, which shouldn't take long (I'm so sorry it's not already done), so you should be able to dictate any time you'd like to see it done and I'll just force myself to find the time to do it D:< do you have a deadline in mind (not within 30 seconds, please )?

I've worked with pit-fall traps and the sweep-netting. :3 Sounds like an interesting project. Though the ID process has got to be incredibly tedious and boring once you hit like 20 un-identifyable specimens. X3

I would like to have the sketch done and mailed before the time I leave for college, on the 17th. Is that an ok amount of time?

September 17th, I assume? That seems completely reasonable. And then, looking through the description of what you want, I was wondering if you wanted the feral or anthro version of your character?

it's truuue! When we were collecting it was terrifying because we kept thinking 'somewhere out there is a bear that's been through here recently and is probably drunk!" because the traps are full of 95% alcohol and we'd found several jars with bitemarks :<
