Bad news, but won't let me down.

Some familiar drama incoming. My grandfather had a leg amputated a week ago, and today we received the news he was diagnosed with Alzheimer. Doesn't want to eat and will be dependable for the rest of his life, which... I don't know if it will be long.
I'm not the kind of insensitive person, but... I'm kinda getting ready for his death, or liberation for him and the ones around him, because he has been in suffering for years now, and made my grandmother, who has the biggest heart I know, suffer as well.
Why am I not affected? Does it make me a terrible person?

on the flipside, it could just the case that the news hasn't really "hit" you yet. and you may find youself affected in the future.
no matter what the reason is, not being affected doesn't mean your a terrible person.
there, my 2 cents. :)
Thanks for the 2 cents ;)
And no, you aren't insensitive, different people react differently to things and that doesn't make you a bad person. For example, I didn't really..feel anything when my grandma died like my mom and aunt did, but I did love her a lot. I only cried at the funeral, but I never really accepted the fact that she passed away.
