Where do you live? Mountain lions/puma shriek, and it can sound like a woman being murdered at times.

Exactly what I was going to suggest. lol

Didn't really sound like a human, but I live in Maine. Not... exactly sure we have puma up here, but I wouldn't know. Sure would hope they wouldn't be this near to civilization O.o Small city or not, it's still a fair amount of cars and buildings.

the scariest sound I ever heard was reaaaaally late at night a few years ago, I was about to go get something from my car, it was pitch black outside... and I heard this horrible scream that sounded a little like a goat bleating and/or a woman laughing... and it just sort of trailed off. Oh my god it was scary * _* never did figure out what it was.

That does sound pretty awful O.o

YEA considering what the Banshee screams symbolize let's hope not haha..

I've heard some pretty horrible sounds coming from my woods before..but I've seen some pretty horrible things coming from my woods before so it wasn't really too surprising.

Hopefully it was just a wild animal; rabbits have freaking TERRIFYING sounds when they are injured and foxes sound horrible too.

I want to investigate, but I totally do not want to ever hear it again either x.x

Scariest noise I ever heard was when I worked at a place next to a large graveyard. My shifts were all at night. One night in October, from the direction of the graveyard, I heard a sound like horses stampeding and dogs barking and howling. It was an eerie sound. The only thing I could think of is that it was the wild hunt, ghostly riders that hunt down lost souls. >.>

Eee, I'd be scared! I could hardly get near the graveyard at night in Savannah x.x We already had enough hauntings without being near the graves.

My mom's Ex-girl friend about 15 years ago one night just screamed while sitting and having a beer, it wasthe most disturbing thing i ever hird. After she said she channeled a banshee, and she was REALLY into cletic magic and stuff, so at the time, i nearly wet my self.

D: I would too. Even like, if they weren't into celtic magic and stuff. XD

yah it was freaky. Even now thinking of it makes my skin crawl, not even the dogs int he area responded to it..
